Individual tailored sessions for unemployed people aged 19+: skills assessment, basic skills including confidence-building and self-esteem, tailored work placements to meet each individual’s interests, skills and aspirations, opportunities for vocational training, signposting to other agencies, CV & application form advice & guidance, guided job searches, interview & presentation skills, post-interview appraisal, opportunities for longer-term mentoring.
Subsidised travel & possibility of subsidised childcare
ESF Youth Programme (sub-contractor with the DLDC)
based at The Compass, 47 West Bars, Chesterfield S40 1AZ
Individual and group sessions for unemployed young people aged 16-18: skills assessment, personal development, preparing for the workplace, communication skills, functional maths, customer care, tailored work placements to meet each individual’s interests, skills and aspirations, opportunities for longer-term mentoring.

NLDC Move on Challenge (sub-contractor with the DLDC)
based at Mary Swanwick Primary School, Church Street North, Old Whittington, Chesterfield S41 9QW
Taster sessions to encourage unemployed residents of Old Whittington aged 19+ into further learning. Free childcare on site.
Taster sessions include Computers for the faint-hearted, Mind your language! (communication skills), Are you getting the best deal? (consumer rights), Tips for getting that job, and Family, food and fun (healthy living). IAG & signposting to other agencies, especially education providers.

Holmebrook Valley Family Centre, Wardgate Way, Chesterfield S40 4SL has a large room for hire.
