Making a reality of Functional Skills
The compulsory introduction of Functional Skills in English and Maths in Apprenticeships from September 2012, poses a significant transformational challenge for hundreds of training providers and their workforce. Providers will be expected to support apprentices towards a more educationally taught assessment programme that is very different from Key Skills. The transition from Key to Functional Skills will have different implications for different types of providers. LSIS and AELP are working in partnership to lead a national Functional Skills convention that will explore the barriers and challenges faced by providers, and showcase a range of approaches that will assist organisational change and prepare your organisations for Functional Skills in the 2012-2013 The convention is complimentaryto attend for all providers working in the further education and skills sector. All delegate bookings are to be made via the LSIS website only: http://www.lsis.org.uk/services/events/Pages/default.aspx"
